If you prefer working mainly with your notebook, the Standsome Slim is right for you. If you would love to have extra space next to your notebook, we recommend the Standsome Slim with wide plate.

If you rather work with an external keyboard, mouse and monitor, the Standsome Double is the one for you. It comes with two plates. Place your monitor on the upper plate, and keyboard and mouse on the lower one.

If you wish to have a working space made for both standing and sitting you should go for our freestanding standing and sitting desk Standsome Free. It is also the perfect choice for you if you give many lectures and speeches or work as a trainer or presenter.

Sustainability has many aspects for us, of which we mention only the most important here:

• The Standsome is made of FSC-certified birch wood that comes from sustainably managed commercial forests. The deforestation of virgin forests is excluded.
• In addition, the Standsome is very robust, has a high material efficiency and an unlimited lifespan.
• It is packed completely plastic-free, in custom-made boxes and with recyclable padding materials (only as much as is absolutely necessary).
• Compared to electrically height-adjustable desks, the Standsome consumes no energy during use. Due to the comparatively low weight and volume, we also save energy and CO2 during transport. Shipping is climate neutral.
• The design of our attachments, which are compatible with any desk, gives you the option of keeping your existing desk and upgrading them. They are added to, not disposed of, thus avoiding unnecessary bulky waste.

In Germany, we now sit for more than 9 hours a day – and that is the average. If you sit for breakfast in the morning, at work during the day, on the road in the car, bus or train and in front of the TV in the evening, you quickly reach 12 to 15 hours.

But scientists say that sitting for as little as 4.5 hours a day is critical. From this sitting time onwards, we can no longer compensate for the damage to our health caused by sitting for long periods of time through exercise and sport.

When we sit, both our musculoskeletal system and our cardiovascular system are not sufficiently exercised. The deficit of movement has a negative effect on blood circulation, metabolism and musculature. The long-term consequences can therefore be summarised in three main groups:

Musculoskeletal disorders (e.g. back pain, joint damage and slipped discs).

Metabolic disorders (e.g. obesity and diabetes)

Vascular diseases (e.g. vascular calcification, high blood pressure and heart attacks).

The risk of these secondary diseases increases with every hour we sit per day. It is therefore even more important to know the health risks of sitting and to counteract them.
